In-Home Postpartum Care
Honouring Your Body, Mind, and Journey

Welcoming new life into the world is a profound, life-changing journey, and your body has been right there with you—carrying, birthing, nourishing, and holding. It has stretched, shifted, and ached in ways you never could have imagined. This incredible process deserves to be honoured with care, space, and tenderness.
Postpartum massage is here to support you, not to fix you. It’s about easing the tension in your shoulders from those endless feeds, soothing the tired muscles from holding and rocking, and giving you a moment to reconnect with your body and yourself. This time is all about care—restoring, nurturing, and allowing your body to feel like itself again.
Your body is incredible. Let’s honour it with the care it deserves.

Timing & Safety Considerations
Each birth is unique, and your body knows when it's ready for care. Here’s a quick guide for when to start your postpartum massage:
Vaginal Birth: You can begin postpartum massage as soon as you feel ready, often within the first few days after delivery. Your body will tell you when it’s the right time, but always check in with your healthcare provider to ensure it's right for you.
Caesarean Birth: If you've had a caesarean, it's generally best to wait until your incision has healed, and you’ve received clearance from your doctor—usually around 6 weeks after delivery. It’s essential to listen to both your body and your doctor’s advice.
FAQs
-
Postpartum massage is generally safe once you feel ready. For those with a vaginal birth, massage can be beneficial within the first few weeks. If you’ve had a C-section, you’ll need to wait at least 6 weeks and receive doctor clearance before lying on your stomach. That said, I offer side-lying or seated options, so you can still enjoy a restorative massage during this time.
-
Yes, postpartum massage is specifically tailored to address the unique physical and emotional needs that arise after childbirth. It focuses on relieving muscle tension, aiding recovery, and providing a supportive, calming environment for your mind and body.
-
While many refer to the first six weeks after birth as the "fourth trimester," the postpartum period can extend up to two years. As you adjust to your new life and embrace the journey of parenthood, I offer ongoing support to help you navigate the physical and emotional challenges you might experience during this time.

I completely understand that babies can be unpredictable. If your baby is unsettled when I arrive, I’ll set up the massage space and assist with any small tasks, such as folding laundry or tidying up, until you feel ready for your massage. You won’t feel rushed, and I’ll make sure we create a peaceful environment at your pace.
-
Absolutely! To accommodate your needs and your baby’s schedule, I block off a two-hour window for each postpartum massage session. This way, we have the flexibility to adjust as needed and ensure you get the full benefit of your session, whether that means a longer massage or simply a bit more time to get comfortable
